Allowing the meat to hang out at four corners makes for a good looking photo for advertising the product. It leaves the illusion that the bun just can't contain all that beefy goodness in a wendy's burger.

I know, that really aggravates me. I end up with ketchup and mustard on the parts of the burger sticking out from the bun and it gets messy. Then the top of the bun slides over and my bun is uneven! Why Dave Thomas, WHY?!

development, they realized and agreed
that the square burger gives them
a 'corner' in their market.
On top of that, it's subliminally a diamond,
which also implies 4 star restaurant.

campaigns was based on a pitch
they'd toyed with, "Square's the Beef!"
Fortunately, they worked on it to improvement.
