First of all someone that is asexual may not know for sure if there situation was born or made. What I mean is that they don't know if they were born with it or if their environment caused it. I don't know in my case but I am a DES daughter meaning my mom took DES when she was carrying me. It is possible that altered my development and/or my hormone levels just enough to cause a problem. It was also an abusive environment. I wish I could choose to be asexual. No asexual can choose to change. If they find it is because of a metal issue maybe they can change but I haven't heard of that even happening so far.

I'm not sure whether it is a choice or not. Most asexual people are just not interested in either sex. I guess you could become that way if you wanted to. I don't know if those people are happy that way or not. I suppose they are or there is probably therapy for qvercoming something like this also.

Do you mean neutrally gendered? I assume it is, given the way you phrased the second part of the question.
There is currently no way to completely and genuinely change your gender biolologically. You can have cosmetic alterations to your genitals, have surgical implants in parts of your body, and can occasionally create small changes in your anatomy through massive hormonal treatment. All are expensive, dangerous, and ultimately ineffective in any way except cosmetic.
There is a relatively recent fashion movement that has some popularity in some areas. The point of this movement is to wear hairstyles, makeup, clothing, voice manipulations, body motion, and other perceptual "tricks" to create the appearance that you have no specific gender. Easy to reverse? Sure, it's little more than a fashion movement... you change change your clothes and hair.

If they were castrated they could become asexual. But abstinence or celebacy is a choice made by the individual. Celebrities who chooseto remain sexually inactive are termed asexual.

Being asexual does not advise you lack gonads, so there's no operation or something. it is basically a term for somebody who has no interest in intercourse with anybody, male or lady. you're the two born that way, or you're no longer.

OK, I think that other guy spence is confused about asexual vs. celibate. I don't think you can be asexual if you wanted to, no more than someone who is homosexual can be "cured" to become hetero.

I've heard of someone who claimed to have figured out how to turn off his sex drive. He did this by eliminating all contact with anything that might be remotely stimulating to his libido, including any sexually suggestive language, radio programming, television shows, movies, etc. Supposedly, he had complete success. Personally, I doubt his account of his success, and the way he went about it sounds absolutely miserable to me.

seems to me a person can't chose to be asexual... it is a natural human instinct to engage in sex. the drive is SUPPOSED to be there, if it isn't then i think something is probably wrong with him/her physically to explain it.

ive been asexual for 4 months, im tired of it. its not what its chalked up to be, unless you've heard it sucks.
if someone wanted to be, why couldn't they, the only way they couldnt is if they get rapped. there the masters of there bodies. it could be reversed by them hooking up with someone.
