Isn't that unhealthy and I heard the more you use it the more you get addicted and you could die from it. I don't know but I know it's unhealthy. Am I right??

To sort of tie everyone's answers together: Teens (especially females) are under a lot of pressure to be thin, lose weight, etc. It's true even for adult women. Usually, they may begin dieting and this leads to one or more of the following: less amounts of food, less foods with fiber and vitamins, purging. All this will affect their bowel movements and some will resort to laxatives to get rid of the waste that their body can no longer naturally remove. Also, yes, by using laxatives, you can temporarily lose "water waste" and as time goes on, it can easily become an addiction. It is stupid and unhealthy, but it happens.

To answer your first question along with your others. So many teens plus adults use laxatives because the media has so much to say that people should be thin in order to fit in. The A list stars are also thin and well almost everyone wants to look like the A list stars. It's very unhealthy, and I do hope that you won't be taking laxatives. Laxatives also gives you gas so you will only be bloated after using the bathroom. Any type of pills to help you lose wait are addicting. Hope that I've helped.

Laxatives clean out the bowel and make you lose weight, but they do it by relaxing the muscles and liquifying the contents. You get addicted by not being able to have a bowel movement without them because the muscles don't move and undulate anymore.
Teens do it because it's an easy way to lose weight and they need to know that it takes hard work to lose weight and there isn't a magic cure.

Yes. When you take laxatives it makes you go to the bathroom almost immediately. So instead of declining food and forcing oneself to retch, they turn to laxatives because they get the satisfaction of eating and curing their hunger. They don't have to worry about retching and the uncomfortableness that comes with it. However, laxatives are still dangerous because if you take too many you could damage the walls inside of your stomach and intestines.

Who says they do? I really doubt that is the case.
Maybe anorexics or bulimics, but half of them just make that stuff up.

It is because you can end up relying on the laxitive to produce a bowel movement as well as other reasons which I forget just now.. oh it can also make you dehydrated and you lose the nutrition from the food.
