As long as you didn't expect them to really be HOT. Baseball games are really loooong and can be boring if you're not a big fan, the food is sometimes the best part! The worst part is usually the traffic getting out of the game. So as long as you didn't really want HOT nuts or a HOT hot dog, you weren't out of line. Especially if you're not a fan. Then you would have been bored and had a rotten time and he would have been grumpy. A hot dog is a cheap price to pay for an afternoon at the game!

If it is known by the whole family that you are not meat eaters, then it was either really rule to ask you or just cheap (since meat is often the most expensive part). If you are a vegetarian because of the cruelty animals raised for meat suffer or a similar reason, don't compromise your belief system for a family barbeque. Call your sister-in-law and let her know there must have been a mistake, because you know she knows you are a vegetarian. If she won't back down, inform her that you are bringing a meatless entree like veggie burgers or tofu kabobs or whatever. Bet that will change her tune.

Well, for the price he'll pay it'd be cheaper to get you a pack of buns and franks at the store. But it wasn't wrong.

LOL. Did he laugh? Sure he'd be happy to, just might not have been sure what exactly you were asking for.
