I have AT&T Dsl and it sucks. I've had it for about a year. It's great at times but sucks at some points. Lately it's been lamer than dial up internet. I've tried to get help form them but can't understand them to well. Or it doesn't help any. I bought a new modem even. 2-wire wireless one. This computer is wired to it. Yet it still sucks. Can you help? Should I run system recovery or use this disc it came with that has a seal that says use onl yif directed? Thanks

It could be that your computer has a virus or spyware on it. Run a virus scan and a spyware scan to get rid of any malware, and then try it again.

Sounds like you may have a computer problem. Have you downloaded ad aware and virus protection. The other thing it might be is a line problem but check for spyware and viruses this may save you the expense of a technician going out to your house.

spyware or DSL speed could be the issue. try running a speed test from atl.speakeasy.net or speed.fastaccess.com (if your at&t DSL used to be bellsouth). if you're getting very low speeds compared to your acceptable speed range it is the DSL's problem and you have to call in for tech support and maybe ask for a tech dispatch. if not, boot your pc in safe mode with networking, if the speed improves, then consider running a virus or spyware scan. or disable start-up items :)

If i was you i would just get rid of it. I had dsl for about six months and its not much faster than dial-up you should just switch to a cable provider they are much faster and more reliable.
