As a Wiccan, I don't believe in Satan. Unlike most Wiccans though, I do believe there are beings of pure good as well as beings of pure evil. One cannot exist without the other, and there are the extremes, but both have to exist.

Satan or HaSatan, is a mythical being no more real then the Easter bunny, tooth fairy, Santa Claus or Allah.

As for being as enemy of mankind and a distorter of truth, this description fit the notion of Satan, then again, it fits the notion of god as well.

Both god (Allah, Yahweh, etc...) and HaSatan (Satan, Lucifer, the devil, etc...), or more correctly the idea of god and/or Satan, detract from mans confidence, self-reliance, responsibility and overall state of mental being. We blame the devil or things that are going wrong, we thank god for the good, we pass up opportunities for growth, personal gain or pleasure because of some unwarranted believe passed down from ages past or we are scarred witless out of some idealistic notion that some being someplace thinks that something we did was wrong.

Anything that stands in the way of humanities development, self-understanding, and overall benefit is a true enemy mankind, and the fact that the bible (as well as the Koran and virtually all other 'holy books') are riddles with lies and distortions, I would say that both the god AND the devil in all their various guises are in fact distorters of truth.

In order for humanity to grow and reach their highest levels of achievement, the childish ideas of a god and/or a devil MUST be abandoned, just as children must let go of the idea that an old man with a beard delivers presents around the globe all in one night or that putting a tooth under your pillow with actually be collected by a fairy and exchanged for money.

I hope this helps.

That's an accurate description. In his feeble little mind WE are the reason he got invited to leave paradise...so YEAH Satan really really hates us. The bad news is that Satan is in control here and now...he runs the banks and the governments and the corporations and the media...they are all his works to bring total dominance over the human race with the ultimate goal of our total destruction. George Bush (or even Mahmoud Ahmadinejad) are just puppets taking orders from above in their power pyramids...the tip of all the pyramids is Satan promising them unequaled wealth and power.

Yes i believe he is very real and does exist. There have been times that I have fallen away from my religious practices and always encounter numerous problems. I truly believe this is the work of Satan, as each time I have the conviction in my heart of seeking out religious services again, the problems cease.

I've spoken to my priest about this. I find it easy to denounce Satan because I don't believe he exists.

My priest disputes that, but I have a hard time believing in Satan.
