im with you dude..im a fellow rocker...but its not really because of whats going on today.
back in the 80's bands like led zeppelin and black sabbath and ozzy osbourne wrote songs that explicitly talked about the devil...
mr.crowley was a conjurist and ozzy wrote a song about him,
jimmy page bought mr.crowleys house and actually did his own worshipping there....
sadly the yester tears made a bad name for us all...even though most of them are truly awesome and influential bands.

You just hit a nerve there buddy.
Rock n Rap both mean the world to me.
You don't understand.
Mainstream rock, like Nickleback, Good Charlotte, My Chemical Romance, Simple Plan, etc DISGUST alot of people, such as me. Alot of true "rockers" are completely put off by the media nowadays.
Just like mainstream rap is polluted and dilluted with the same old bullshit.
By the way smoking weed and getting drugged up isn't satanism, that's just a good time.
As a diehard fan of both REAL rock and REAL rap, I can tell you this, there will always be icons of falseity for the real artists to compare to.
THERE ARE TOO MANY CLUB SONGS.
THERE ARE TOO MANY OVERPRODUCED STUDIO NUWAVE ROCK BALLADS THAT ARE ALL ABOUT THE DOLLARS.
The rock symbol IS the DEVIL HORNS...
Rap promotes banging ho's in the club, slanging rocks, and poppin on busters and getting CRUNK.
Rock promotes trashing hotel rooms, getting crunk, the darkness, mosh pits, and loud noise.
It's all about the music really though.
I am a rock/rap hybrid and know pretty much everything about both, so let me put it to my fellow rockers like this- on the subject of rap- listen to the beat of the song first, and the lyrics as a compliment to it. If you don't like the beat you won't like the lyrics.
And if you don't have the heart to listen to a little drug pushing and lamb slaughtering, then just don't. ;) ignore it.

No, rock's about that, too. Listen to Motley Crue or any 80's rock band for that matter. It's all about... SEX, DRUGS, AND ROCK N' ROLL!
Rockers are also called devil-worshipers because of the image link between rock n roll and the devil. Let's take some classics (at least as far as I can go):
Highway to Hell (AC/DC)
Sympathy for the Devil (Rolling Stones)
Runnin' with the Devil (Van Halen)
Not to mention the whole metal scene...
Rock on!

Pretty much all music has it's dark or dirty moments... since it's story telling like any other movie, book, etc. People who pick on rock do so because it's the easiest one to point at and get everyone who doesn't listen rock to stand up and say, "uh, yeah! It's rocks fault the world's youth is going to hades in a handbasket!" It takes any responsibilities off of them and their actions or INactions as parents, teachers, members of society.
But that's just the lame opinion of a person you shouldn't listen to - because we all know ppl who listen to rock are evil and dumb.
~~~ ROCK ON! ~~~~~
People are afraid of what they don't know. I don't know how old you are but in 82-86 Ozzy was the devil. Now he has had a TV show, and everyone loves him. Now Marylon Manson is satan. It's just a big joke. People like us understand what it's all about, who cares what others think. It's just music enjoy it.
i definitely don't think that any sort of music should be considered "devil worshipping." the actions a person takes is thier own responsibility, not anyone or anything else's.
back in the eighties, al gore's lovely wife tipper and her troop of upset mothers started a lawsuit against people in music. she wanted to take john denver's "rocky mountain high" because they thought it was supposed to be about marijuana use, altho it was only about love of the USA. Frank Zappa was one of the defendants.
through the years however, people have tried to blame thier grief on outside sources. people from the school shootings back in the early nineties wanted to blame pearl jam's video of "jeremy" because it showed kids being shot in the head. two boys killed themselves to a judas preist song and thier parents brought them to court. earlier than that, the "Son of Sam" killer swore that if he played "Strawberry Fields" (from the Beatles) backwards, he thought he could hear the devil talking to him.
Parents need to take more responsibility for their children's actions and not blame them on outside sources. I have listened to both rock and rap my whole life and haven't killed anyone or had promiscuous sex. So there's proof beyond a reasonable doubt that music and media don't affect lifestyles.
This idea is about 20-25 years late.
Rock listeners haven't been called that since the 80s.
Where'd you hear this??
Not really, most rockers have lives full of sex, drugs and alcohol. Rap isn't "devil worshipping" either because most rappers don't mention religion in their songs.
I agree. At least when the hard rockers are on stage, they are playing music; not having a gang bang.
