I would invest it in a insurance company like New York Life or Lincoln Financial. You are guaranteed a certain amount whether the stock market goes up or down. If you play the market, you can get burnt although they will tell you the longer you keep it in the more of return you get, but it's not guaranteed , as with an insurance co, it is.

That's not enough to live comfortably for the next fifty years. First I'd learn about investing, then I'd travel to other countries and look for a nice place to settle down and start a little business to keep busy.

Loan me $8000.00 to get out of debt. Just Kidding. Invest, Invest, Invest. Get a financial counselor to help you find out what would be a good investment right now. I would also put some away that you can get to easily later. Good Luck and just know how lucky you are to have it.

Take tomorrow off.
Stay away from any insurance company investments. They're the highest commissioned business going. They get their money way before you get yours, if there is any left to be got.

Smile a lot, and be sure that a reasonable amount of it was invested for the long term, for my (very early) retirement.

buy apple(aapl) and hang on to it for about a year, and then buy yourself an island! (and a lamborghini), and put the rest in.....well, apple(aapl) of course!
