I know that there is strength in numbers, but is not the whole purpose of banding together to attain rights for the individual?
If a group remains and begins to direct how its members behave, does not the individual lose strength rather than gain it? And anyone who may have a disagreement with the group, just as i, a bisexual woman, disagree with some gay issues, is outcast. And is not the group easily swayed by its most radical members?

A healthy group is that which allows its members to hold their points of view, their disagreements over issues, and is open to debate within itself, but when it comes to the rights of individuals, the group as a whole takes a stand. Each person has his or her views, the group prioritizes those that affect the larger good, and then addresses issues that are deemed as not so pressing.

Well done, my Daughter! A group can indeed be swayed by it's more radical members but it takes the more level heads of that group to stand up for the whole and say NO to those radicals. Just because you're Bi, doesn't mean you're an outcast. I certainly have not outcast you and I consider myself to be a steadfast (if gone for the last three weeks) member of this Society.
A member of the Group has the right to disagree with the Group. That's what makes a Democracy and a Democracy stands up for the rights of the whole and of the Individual.
We cannot become so inordinately PC to see dissenters as outcast -- otherwise we become Republicans (bad bad Otter....:)
We as a Group are as strong as we treat our weakest individual.

Many Individuals agree and disagree. That's why its good to have a great leader who can motivate and bring the group to gather as a team. I do think we are stronger as a group who come to gather as a team to attain rights.

if someone were to step up to a challenge and keep a group on a proper and moral path. say for example, three ppl go into a grocery store, yet two of them plan on stealing something. say they meet up in one of the aisles to talk about what they lifted, but the one guy stands up to say that he has not gotten anything , and he feels that stealing is wrong. The Laws in my counrty dictate , if you were riding in a car and you have illegal substances, they may not be yours but you are guilty by association. It might be better to speak up and tell the truth

Its take both .. individual effort and group effort. A united front does not mean that we all have the same favorite color. Diversity provides us with the ability to see that we are same but not the "same". (Does that make sense?)

I personally believe it just depends on the person. If you think about it, there are people that just tend to be loners and they are fine. There are some that need to have people around and they are fine. It just depends. If you have a whole bunch of weak people together...they can be as strong willed and one individual. Just look at all of the people who are strong on their own (example: Oprah). I just really think it depends on who you speak about.
