4O + 5A = $3.56
4O = 3.56 - 5A
O = (3.56 - 5A)/4

Since you are dividing the entire right side by 4, you must use parentheses to group the terms

your first equation is correct
the second one should be
1) 3O +4A = 2.76
subtract 3O from both sides
2) 4A = 2.76 - 3O
divide both sides by 4
3) A = (2.76 - 3O)/4
