(5/36+3/15)+7/13
start with the bracket. the common factor is 3
5/36+3/15
_______
3
You'll say 3 into 36 goes 12 times 5 which is = to 60 and 3 into 15 goes 5 times 3 which is = to 15
add 60 +15=75
75/3=25
7/13+25/1= the common factor is 13, 13 into 13=1 times 7,+13 into 1=13 times 25 which is = to 7+13 times 25 over 13

the words tell you what you need - "denominator" is the name for the number underneath the fraction line (here, 36, 15 and 13 are denominators). "least common" means the smallest number that all those denominators are divisors of. In other words, what is the smallest number that can be divided evenly by each of 36, 15 and 13? The previous two answers show you how to figure that out.

5/36,+3/15+7/13

Well, before you freak out, 3/15=1/5

So you have
5/36,+1/5+7/13

But that really doesn't help much... The denominator is going to be (36)(5)(13).

So your problem is now:
[(5)(13)5 + (36)(13)5 + 936)(5)7] / [(5)(13)(36)]

You can do the arithmetic from here.
