For the first 5-7 years of my life I was attracted to no one. I guess that is normal, since I was only a baby/child.
Then, for the next ten years of my life I was straight. I was attracted to males only. I had crushes on boys like any normal pre-teen girl. I thought homosexuality was disgusting, but thought if people were gay that was fine; they weren't bothering me. I was NOT in denial. I was NOT the slightest bit attracted to women.
It may have been because of high school or my best friend. I became more open-minded and more artistic. I became bi. I just became more attracted to women. I don't know why. Don't tell me i was bi all along and was denying it because i was confused or because society is oppressive. This is about my attractions only. Now I prefer women.

nope. if he was a straight person, he would not be gay. It's as simple as that.
I just dont understand why this question is asked so often?. Why won't straight folks listen to the answer we keep telling them?? Who would better know??? Why would I lie about? If I chose my sexuality, I'd gladly tell you.
Straight folks just need to ask themselves one question....could they all of a sudden decide the same sex body was going to stimulate them physically, erotically, and emotionally as the opposite sex body does now?? Men, could you decide from here on out, you were going to get a stiffy every time you saw a good looking muscled guy?
The answer is as clear as can be. And yet, for some reason, straight people dont want to accept that answer. Why? Because this fact goes against their politics and religion. Ideology put in front of facts. Simple as that.
As a gay man, who spent 28 years trying like hell to choose my sexuality (I wanted to be straight!), trust me when I tell you....it just don't work that way.

They're not "born" gay right out like that. Gay men don't pop out of the uterus singing "Macho Man".
But, because of ignorance and abuse, many gay people are afraid to embrace who they are and have denied their sexuality. Sometimes it even gets so far as marriage. A gay person can go through the motions, they just don't enjoy it. Until one day something happens, maybe they meet their true love, and they just can't deny it anymore.
That's a happy ending, though. Sometimes they just hide it forever...

I do believe everyone is born bisexual, some more hetero than homo (9 in 10, independently of culture, history or nationality, same as left handed people), but maybe some people kind of sway in that balance, sometimes feeling more gay or more straight, so you dont really "turn". You kind of always were and just accept it.
no?

Why are you so concerned with gay people? Find a different hobby.
Also here is a quote from one of your own asnwers : "no. girl you have the freedom to do you. Be with whom you choose b/c it is your prerogative". Everyone should be able to be with whomever they choose regardless of race, gender and religion. How would you feel if you fell in love with a white man and 2198746218746128754 people told you you cannot be together because you're black? Would you leave him because everyone says so, or would you stay with him because what you have together is truly special?
In this world full of murder, hatered, permisoucty, and other terrible things, i think the last thing someone as intelligent as God cares about it two people whatever gender and colour being in a loving relationship together and not hurting anyone.

That would be how people looking in on my life would interpret it- I wouldn't. I dated women; I was married for 10 years. The whole time I thought about men constantly and I never thought about women. One thing my wife never had to be jealous about was me looking at another woman. The hold up for me was not that I changed but that I finally admitted to myself who I was at the age of 39 and thought it was time to please myself and not society, since society didn't have to live within my skin and live my life.

They can come out of the closet, yes.
And not all gays show "signs." There's no noticable physical traits related to sexuality.

Although someone who may call themselves straight can become a person who calls themselves gay, it is not that simple.
If a man is sexually attracted to a woman and calls himself straight, and then becomes sexually attracted to a man and calls himself gay, he is neither. He is bisexual.
If a man is not sexually attracted to women but engages in sexual relations or marries a woman, and then engages in sexual relations with men that he is sexually attracted to, he never was straight and he is gay.
Gay, bisexual, and straight refer to sexual attractions. A man who is only sexually attracted to females can engage in sex with another man, but without the attraction he is still straight.
