Question about meeting in the judges chambers?
When my EX beat me up in another state( years ago), and I took him to court, I was given a court appointed attorney. I am now living in FL, he's from another state, and they said I have to have my own attorney. He has one that showed up for the 1st court date stating his client knew nothing of the proceedings. I showed the judge copy of receipt for the supeona. It was then rescheduled for tomorrow morning in her chambers.

The charge is harrassment / stalking.

I don't have an attorney.

Thanks for your time in answering this question.

Be on time, dress nice, and act like a Lady. If you have a lawyer he will do all of the talking, if not and asked a question, speak plain and clear enough for the judge to understand and hear you. Good Luck Also take the reciept from the first hearing with you.

I think that you should go ahead and appear, be early, if you are "on time" you are late. Once at the courthouse, let the Judge's secretary, the bailiff or court clerk know that you are there.

Dress appropriately-like you would for church. No denim; no shorts; no capris; no tank top; no sandals. If you have piercings (like your nose/eyebrow/lips) I would recommend removing them for court. If you have tattoos, I would recommend covering them up (long sleeve shirt; dress pants, etc.).

Use nice language when addressing the Judge. Be respectful. Don't interrupt anyone---especially the judge. Don't swear; Don't say "ya, know; anyways". Dont argue with your ex or his lawyer.

Be on your best behaviour. Take your receipt with you for the subpoena.
