Just find it interesting that while Hollywood has a very big reputation for being liberal and there are always liberal actors being mentioned as candidates, it always for some reason seems to be the conservative actors/performers who actually run.
Regan, Arnold, Sonny Bono, possibly Thompson, even the guy from Dukes of Hazard, cooter, ran and Gopher from Love boat, all, I think, as Republicans.

Not really a question but just something I've always found interesting and don't really know why it happens that way.

The Republicans who are actors and who have run for office have gotten more media attention than the Democrats. But you did get one fact wrong: Ben Jones, who was Cooter, was a Democrat. Some other actors who have run for Congress before, but lost, are Ralph Waite (Pa, from "The Waltons), Nancy Kulp (Miss Hathaway from "The Beverly Hillbillies;" Buddy Ebsen made an ad opposing his former co-star), and, more recently, Nick Clooney.

Also remember that Sheila Kuhn (formerly a co-star on the Dobie Gillis show) has been serving in the California state legislature.

Hollywood stars, like any other citizen of this country, have the right to run for office. They also have the right to participate in the political arena. What bothers me is the fact that some Hollywood stars believe that they are experts in politics or certain issues facing our nation, like global warming, poverty, and healthcare, simply because they are stars. You have to assume that any of these stars is as credible and knowledgeable as a random person on the street.

It's always been a puzzle to me that anyone would put much credence in anything coming from fantasy land, after all most who live and work there can't live a normal life {what ever "normal"is} They all live in let's pretend lives and when the script is done they go see their "shrink" to figure out what to do next, as I said most are that way, not all.

I've noticed the same thing. Typical hypocracy from Republicans. They love to bash hollywood, but when the actor/performer is a Republican they just love to elect them into office.

It's like they are obsessed with hollywood. For example, they're always bringing up Paris Hilton, Alanis Morissete, and that woman from the View, etc, etc on these boards.

the few intelligent actors make good politicians, the rest have too many skeletons in their liberal closets that they're still hiding in.
