Perhaps he's actually conservative?

Was he ever IN the republican party?

He's a rich liberal at heart! He's a Kennedy to-the-core!

We conservatives refer to his ilk as being a RINO (pronounced like rhyno) - Republican In Name Only. These are people who like to characterize themselves as republicans for whatever reason - that's all. Maybe, when he ran for the governorship of NY, he felt that it would work against him if he were to approach the election as a democratic candidate versus the guy who just left - Rudy. Some of us conservatives have also classified Rudy as a RINO due to him refusing to embrace core conservative issues: right-to-life for innocents and Second-Amendment rights. These are CORE conservative issues, regardless of what the goons in the media tell you.

He is a lifetime Democrat until Rudy could not run again. He sailed into mayor. He is a liberal on a lot of issues and the party took him to get the office. NYC is 5 to 1 Democrat

He was a Democrat that changed to a Republican than now is changing to something else, Independent or maybe the 'Unity Party'.
Anyone who changes partisan affiliation just to win elections will not stand a chance in Hell of getting my vote.

Before he ran for mayor of NYC, he was a democrat. And I mean, he was a democrat his whole life before that. I don't think he ever felt tied to the republicans. The switch was more a convenience for the sake for running for office.

The only place he qualifies as a republican is New York.

He really was a liberal to begin with, his true colors are showing flip flop from part to party when ever a poll dictates....so he is home again

Everyone says the party's been moving to the right. Maybe he's been 'left' behind.
