thanks for your answers, so i have a 350 l tank with 1 leopard pleco , 3 about 5 cm around angels, 2 male dwarf gouramis, 2 kuhli loaches, 8 neon tetras, 5male guppies, i golf ball size apple snail and 1 cory getting 3 more. thats all i have a few live plants and a drift wood. yes it was bought today and now that i have turned the light out it darted out and exploring the tank from top to botton in every position seeing it with the tv light. and MM thanks stricking answers as usual it popped in my mind that i can get a hurricane lamp and let it get used to it then i get a pvc pipe long to reach it and put the carnivore pellet inside so it slides into the lamp.

What other fish are in the tank and about how large are they? We might can come up with something that will work.

I'll check back in a few to see if you added any additional information.

ADDITION: midraj, that suggestion was made earlier today in an email.

Given the size of the BGK and the tank mates, I would try small earthworms. The other fish may not be able to handle them very well and that would give the BGK time to grab a few.

Also, if the fish is fairly new to the tank (2-3 days) give him a bit of time to get used to things and become a bit more bold about eating.

Days getting a little long for MM I guess. LOL!(no offense) the best thing I would do is to feed later in the day or right before you turn you light on in the morning. Ghost knife are more nocturnal. Not to mention they find there food mostly by electrolocation. That is, with an Small electric current that they can produce. With this and smell they can find food in the dark if they need to.(which in the wild they do) As for foods, there isn't much they(or any of your others) won't eat. It still sounds like it may be young so you may be able to get it to eat pellet, but I warn yo they can be finicky. Stick with live or frozen shrimp, bloodworm, daphnia, mosquito larvae, tubiflex worms just to start you off with.

Knifefish tend to be most active at night which is when you will need to feed it in order to make sure it is getting enough. They will also eat small fish so if you have guppies, neons or anything similar you may notice them starting to dissappear.
