I used to be a DJ in the Disco era, and I always used to open my shows in a weird fashion.
I would dim all the lights except for the single mirror ball, and play the Elton John synthesizer opening to Funeral for a Friend with the dry-ice machine on. Just as the synth faded, I would flick on ALL the stage color lights, and BANG into the Trammps song "Disco - That's Where the Happy People Go", which just exploded and woke everyone up who was wondering WHAT was happening on stage.
It was so upbeat, with such a chugging bass line, so happy, and set the tone for the night, that everyone filled the floor within 60 seconds, and I wouldn't let them off until I closed down at 2AM.
So, that Trammps song...although not that big a hit, was always my fave.
