Is this a normal Democrat thing?

My cousin, a very loud democrat,...

b****ed and moaned about my dad, bf, and her grandmother's smoking(we were out side in wide open area);
made fun of the military even though my dad, my mom, my bf, our grandfather and her dad was in the military;
wouldn't stop cursing;
and brought her 'friend' to a family picnic but as loud as she is, didn't have the balls to say is was her girlfriend(we don't care that she is Les, we care that she's basically lying to our faces).

She's also a high school drop out, doesn't work and is on welfare, she goes out every night bar hopping, and has done every drug I can think of.

I'd probably beat ur cousin upside down, inside out until she straightens up and turns her life around. People like that don't DESERVE to complain when they do nothing to contribute to society, instead leeching off of welfare...whether your pro or anti-war your family did a very brave and honorable service to the country and should proud =)

No, that's not a normal Democrat thing. Usually people like that don't even vote and call themselves some kind of obscure political affiliation like anarchists if they aren't totally apathetic to politics at all.
My father is a Democrat and he served in Vietnam. My grandfather is a Democrat, and he served in WWII. They both graduated high school and had some college, same as myself, and although I curse sometimes, they don't, and I only do it in company I don't think will be offended. Also, I've never really done any drugs. I tried marijuana once, but I wasn't really impressed with it.
Also, we've all worked all of our lives and no one in my family has ever been on welfare.

Also, I have a gay friend who is a Democrat, but she isn't sneaky or dishonest about it.

Unfortunately that is not a Democart or a Republican thing - that is a lazy assed response to society's demands that she take responsibility for her own actions. She doesn't want the responsibility so she blames the government and then tries to escape the responsibility by using drugs and alcohol. Eventually, it will all catch up to her, however.

I don't think it is very fair to assign her to a political party based on these behaviors, I suppose there are people like this who have all kinds of different political opinions. She was disrespectful however and it sounds like her life is going nowhere. Honestly, as disruptive as she was, she sounds like someone who has very little sense of her personal power, and therefore, as much as she needs it, she is very hard to love.

I bet you can tell a little more about other peoples' politics and other convictions (like religious) in their response to and opinion about her. She may spout that she believes this or that, she may even say she is a democrat, but it doesn't look to me like she has any convictions at all that really hold water.

my mom has became a very vocal democrat. Ever since she has almost the whole family thinks she has gone crazy, not for her views but because of the radical ways she portrays them. My sister got so weirded out that last election she voted republican just to cancel out mom's vote and she a dem!

It sounds like she was pulling your chain. That's one way people respond to relatives who have ostracized them. In fact, all of the behavior you described seems "normal" for someone who has been condemned by their family over issues of lifestyle, sexual orientation, and/or religious views. She was getting in your face, and it worked.

I'm wondering how old you are that you haven't yet realized that one obnoxious person can come from any ethnicity, any political party, any socio-economic level, any profession, etc. WITHOUT it meaning anything at all about the other members of those groups.
