I think he's a nut. It shouldn't matter that he's wasting his time, but I think it turns into a big deal if he starts wasting their time.

I think your question begs a largely opinionated answer not belonging to the scientific topic of astronomy.

Bart Sibrel was a self-made Ahh-sole long before this event.

I think the man is a cultural vandal. Utterly incapable of acheiving anything of worth by his own efforts, he settles for notoriety by attaching himself to someone else's acheivements and claiming they were fake.

I know from personal experience the man is a con-artist and a simple liar. He doesn't believe what he is saying, he just wants to get money and publicity.

Heck, I thought it was pretty damm funny when Aldrin decked him - see the video below. I also thought it was hilarious when the judge threw Sibrel's lawsuit against Aldrin out of court, ruling that the attack was justified.

he deserved to be punched. anyone with half a brain can see that the moon landing hoaxers claims are ridiculous.

van allen himself said that the van allen belts posed no problem for space travel, get over it we went to the moon.
