--Example: Think of all the energy and time they spend ranting against gay rights; if only they'd pay half as much attention to some of the unwanted and neglected poor children in a nearby city, all of whom are the result of heterosexual activity.
--Another example: They'd decide their vote based on the candidate's "pro-life" rhetoric. They campaign so strongly against abortion, but don't lift a finger to help so many children without healthcare or loving homes. They vote for the politician who speaks against abortion, then cuts funding to programs that help the poor children living in America.
--3. They want to interfere in law-abiding gay adults' affairs by going to anti-gay rallies or preaching against "home-sexshuls"
But the larger issue they don't pay much attention to anymore is rampant heterosexual child abuse..

Your observation is completely correct. The "conservative" thinks they have the responsibility to set the moral tone not just for them and their family but for all of us.

Gays - not moral and I don't want to see it. Well, shut your eyes if it offends you as you have no more right to display LEGAL behavior as anyone else. Being Gay is legal....period.

Religion - Oh, this is a christian nation. Well, it is really a secular democracy with strict separation of church and state. Why - to keep religious zealots out of our lives and our schools. I do not care if they have strong convictions just leave me alone already, please.

Drugs - marijuana is evil and a gateway drug. No, it is not a gateway drug and many studies have indicated it is far safer and better than alcohol for our society.

Abortion - against gods law. Tough for them to leave women to their own decisions.

Pornography - Oh, no. Again, don't buy it if you don't want it.

Stem cell research - abortion related. Again, please do not keep us from medical advances.

What busy bodies these people are and no, we have not voted you people to be our collective social conscience.They then claim they want government out of our lives, that is unless it is pushing their beleifs down our throats then government is good. These people are really too much to bear.

I think, you need to pay attention. Republicans don't focus on what you do with your bodies. They don't fixate on below the belt issues. And, I have never heard any Republican politicians ranting about gay rights. To call child abusers "heterosexual" is a "little" off base. I would not refer to child molesters as either gay or heterosexual. And child abuse is child abuse, regardless of gender. People who vote against abortion (Republican or Democrat) believe that the baby is alive. Is a soul. Can feel pain. Etc...

I've seen many people take in and help children and the elderly who are down and out.... but then that would be the right wing people who are doing that and since you are in the left wing dreaming up unproven accusations and twisting the truth, guess you would miss that.

It does get pretty frustrating I have met some that defend the early biblical pedophelia and incest but are enraged about adult consenting homosexual relionships.many glbt chidren are thrown out of these homes and become prostitutes and criminals in the citys.If only the familys had loved them enough to accept them as the gift god gave them.Makes you wonder about christian family values.
