i live in a condo complex where the residents live in close proximity. is it legal for the resident of one condo to get DSL or cable broadband service and share it through a community-funded computer club?

It is illegal to share video signals in this way. But when I was in Texas the appartment complex actually had a contract with the cable company to supply the internet. In office buildings the owners sell internet access to their clients. I think that once you are paying for the connection the only limitation would be the bandwidth. I would do it. The only drawback would be bandwidth and support. The other tenants cannot call the provider in case of problems. If the provider has a problem with the setup the worst that would happen is they would disconnect you.
