Very good question, that i dont have the answer to either. But, it isnt that he is getting old.......lol And, the better question would be.......Why is he the leading vote getter for the allstar team???? He shouldnt even be on team little on leading vote getter. I understand all players go thru slumps and beltran is entitled his too, i like beltran i have no problem with him or his play and i think he will be more than fine. But, i do have a problem with someone batting 260 with 36 rbi 36runs scored and 9 homers beating out players batting 300 plus with better other numbers.

Well Beltran had a amazin 1st month but then he started to slow. He would have came out of the slump sooner, but then he got injured, which mad things worse. but if u watched the last 2 mets games u would've seen he was swinging the bat faster with more power, in the next few games he'll by back and don't be surprised if he hits a few homeruns.
Also when Beltran 1st came 2 the mets he hit poorly because there was no real power in the line up 2 help him, which he said made it harder mentally 2 hit. and in his slump the mets have the fewest homeruns as a team in the majors, but with the other Carlos starting 2 hit, and others guys he'll feel less prussure and will start 2 hit more
know most of this from listenin 2 the radio,

Carlos Beltran is sluming too i imagine it is undesirable to seperate gamers who've created bonds with different gamers. Beltran slumping has change right into a ailment for the Giants mainly provided that they gave up Wheeler who might want to of been their variety 5 guy interior the starting up rotation (because that Zito and Sanchez are both terrible).

I think there are several factors that can force a player to fall in such a slump.
a) Injuries - when your body hurts, its very dificult just to perform at the level you are expected to perform.
b) When other players in the line up are also in a slump, (Carlos Delgado, David Wright, Shawn Green), pitchers on the opposing teams also notice that and will stop giving you good pitches to hit, just because its easy to deal with the other guys.
c) And, one last thing, people beleive baseball is an easy thing to do just because kids play it at a very young age. When that ball its coming at you at 100 mph and moving from side to side and up and down, that bat can morph into a very small toothpick.

If you go back in past years and look at his numbers month-by-month you will see he is a streak hitter. When he goes cold he will give you nothing for a long period of time, but when he is hot he can carry the team on his back for weeks at a time. I don't believe you have to worry about Beltran and all the teams that have to play the Mets don't want to see him come out of his slump against them. He is solid and there is nothing to worry about.

neither do I. He never can hot in a clutch.... he can always be counted on to get out with men on base. I am a huge Met fanr and hate seeming him struggle. there hasn't been any glimmer of hope like there has been for delagdo. This is just a bad year for him.

His knee is hurting him and he can't get comfortable in the box because he is favoring one leg. He'll get out of it. Just wait.
