The democratic party has a long history of badmouthing their opponents without actually accomplishing anything on their own.
A perfect example is the recent change from a republican majority in the house and senate switching to a democratic majority. During the election all we heard about was how Bush had bungled Iraq, and if how the democrats were in office they would fix it. No one would say how they would fix it, because there is no easy fix and they know that. Still, they did win the majority and they have done what since then except put our troops at higher risk by refusing the funds they need?
The problem is the American people are gullible, ignorant and misinformed. We like to have someone to blame. The democrats are classic for hanging people out to dry, but all they really do when they are in office is raise taxes and undermine our security as a nation.

I am no fan of Clinton but when he left office we had a surplus. We are putting a burden on our children by not paying taxes. No president ever promoted a war then cut taxes. That is not very smart. Who is the economy better for not me. I am a Republican that believes Bush has been the worst president we have ever had. The oil companies? It is not better for the middle class. What I am saying is let's pay our bills instead leaving them for future generations. How can any thinking person believe we are better off with a deficient? We call the Democrats"tax and spend" but isn't that what Bush is doing. Do you pay your bills? Then why should the government not?

Democrats, Republican, hell, they're all a bunch of liars, thieves, and philanderers who can't even pass decent legislation. The economy? What economy? If you believe the media and Congress and the President, you're an idiot. Ask yourselves this: Why isn't there any statistics on those of us who have fallen off the unemployment rolls and still can't find jobs? Where's the middle class of America gone? 1% of the population now controls most of the wealth of this country and the rest of us are falling into poverty at an ever-increasing rate. I say screw the IRS and establish a flat tax on everybody and every business INCLUDING all corporations. And no more CEO golden parachutes over five bucks!

Because even though the economy is doing well in a sense, most of the profits are remaining at the top and not trickling down to the majority of Americans. The average American has the lowest buying power since 1954 or so.

Pull your head out of Bush & Chaneys forcast book and realize the truth. These are the two dirtiest scumbags ever elected. Watergate isn't nothing compared to the dirty work these two have done all in a cloud of secrecy. If either one of these two baboons had a brain they would never have tried to use the "hidden e-mail accounts". I can't wait to see what the computer forensics people find there. We may have to build a new jail to put all the bastards away! That would help the economy, and in fact those wouldn't be jobs for illegal immigrants. They have absolutely destroyed the constitution too!

Depends which numbers you look at. If you look at more than just the stock market (Which is not really a good economic indicator, as it tends to go up over any significant period of time), you'll see an economy that's strong in some places, pretty weak in others. All in all, not a great economy, not a terrible one. Certainly not better overall than under Clinton.

The economy IS terrible, especially for the middle-class. A lot of the blame goes to Bush and his irresponsible tax cuts, which were heavily geared to the wealthy. Clinton, on the other hand, stimulated economic growth and job creation. So, before you bash, do the research.

The only way you can presume they are lying is that you -of all people- happen to know the TRUTH and...

you also know that they (the dems) are making it all up about how bad things are.

Are you that good?

What's happening here, Slick, is that the dems are pointing to specific areas of the economy, such as the employment statistics and saying things could be better and that they are NOT better because of the Republican emphasis on supporting business as opposed to the democratic emphasis on supporting individuals.

I don't care WHICH side of the line you're on -you'll find something to fault on the other side.

Do they make it up? Of COURSE they do -same as the Republicans.

Choose your poison.

Either way - it is poison.

Have a lovely day.

I'm sorry, but how do you figure the economy is better than 10 years ago? Maybe you're one of the richest 1% who got almost all of Bush's tax cuts. Meanwhile Americans can't travel abroad because the value of the dollar is in the toilet.
