So I just read that a bill in the senate that will taxe big oil companies about 30 billion dollars.....and will supposedly use the money to "targeting the money to energy conservation, wind turbines, electric hybrid cars and clean coal technology."
Both Democrats and Republicans seem to support this, there is virtually no opposition to this bill.
My concern is that the cost of this will be passed onto the consumers. We already pay high gas prices. The government sees this as an incentive for big oil companies to pursue other forms or energy development, but is this really an incentive for that, or is it just another opportunity for big oil to pass the cost onto us?
