indubitably. as i recall, the tree appeared to be a maple, but it uttered words to me. i wasnt wearing my spectacles. it sounded like my dear old granny. i am unable to repeat what horrific curses she obstreperously screamed many a night of the waxing gibbous.

No. Poor tree! I wouldn't do that to it! (you know the slippery elm tree? Just found out that when people buy slippery elm tea or whatnot, the people who obtained the slippery elm bark stripped the tree of all it's bark. Then they left the tree bare. Well, the tree starves to death like that. Isn't that horrible? I never knew that.) I think living things wouldn't like something carved into them.

Yup, in the maple tree in the back yard of the house I grew up in in NJ.
