My fax is connected to my home line..when it rings i pick it up there's a beep for a fax...do i hang up and press start or press start then hang up?

Press fax start and then hang up, because if you hang up first then you will disconnect the call.

Definitely press start first. If you hang up first, the call will be disconnected.

when it rings just press start. You don`t need to hang up.
