Yes, put it on your application.

If they call, they can legally only say you worked there and you were discharged. Anything else and they risk being sued for libel.

Yes you should. There is no law preventing a company from talking about you. They can make any truthful statement. Most firms have a policy of only giving out begin and end dates, and whether or not you worked out your notice to prevent lawsuits.

However, being truthful with a future employer will not prevent you from getting a job. Let's face it, you learned a lesson. What steps are you going to take at your new job to prevent the problem that caused you to get fired from happening there?

Having blank spots on your job application looks like you got fired and don't want to be honest about it.

You can some places do not even check references or past employers. If they do check the employer, and if that person goes into details of why you got fired it will be kind of hard for you to find out if they did.

Personally I would put mine on because I have been employeed for almost ten years. So go ahead and if you get an interview they can not ask why you got fired or go into your personal life. An application and interview are only to find out if you are qualified for the postion you are appling for.

Good luck

You never want to leave companies off any application because if the company hires you and finds out about it, they are going to want to know why. It is considered lying by omission and you could get fired for it.

The laws are different in different states and cities so check where you live and see what they are allowed to share with others.

You got fired.. didn't you... Well, yes you would put it on your next application and it is against the law to make negative comments unless you got fired for a really good reason.

Yes, you should put it on your next application. Depending up the laws in your state, only thing your previous employer is allowed to disclose is your tenure and if they'd re-hire you.

put it on your application, most companies these days will only confirm your employment dates. They generally will not include the terms of you leaving, or what type of employee that feel you were.

Depends on what you got fired for. They cannot disclose any specific information on the phone or in person. Its a violation of your privacy.
