Im having Trouble Installing directx 9!?

i downloaded it and when i try to install
it says
an internal system error has occured
pleaser refer to dxerror.log in your windows folder to determine problem
what do i do?
please help!

Try reinstalling it BUT with all startup applications and processes disabled. Click Start, Run, type msconfig, OK. Go to Startup tab.

If this does not work, try uninstalling your old DX version first before you install.
