I am UK-based.

I realise that in the US and China one can buy these things probably for less than £1000. :-)

Could please have online shop suggestions.

i can sell you mine for 1000 euros but my processor is 2.4GHz
it also has 2 HDs (200GB & 35GB)
256MB RAM and an updated asus A9550GE 256MB graphics card that makes my pc very good ...
i bet your question now is:
"if so , why you wanna sell it?''
that's why my budget has recently extended !

Almost everywhere, I would think!

If your budget is that high, look at Dell Europe:

Just remember that clockspeed isn't everything- it depends on the model of processor these days. A 2Ghz Athlon X2 3800+ is much faster than a 3.2 Ghz Pentium-D. So if you're considering AMD processors, it's the number before the plus sign that tells you the relative speed, and that's the one to use, not the 2Ghz.

If a software pacakge's requirements state "at least a 3Ghz Pentium-4 processor", an AMD 3800+ exceeds those requirements. Same for a 1.86Ghz Core 2 Duo, which is much faster.

A good company to consider is Carbonfrost Systems. I can speak from experience when I say they have the best warranty and service. They will literally build it to whatever you want while keeping the price low. They have computers in all price ranges so you should be able to find one.

Or if you want total custom, then give them your limit and you will get the best computer out of it. Not even newegg or anything can beat it and you would have to hook and install everything up.

Also they will give a computer like that for under 1000 Pounds easy probably even lesser than that.

Plus they use the best name brand parts and the service and warranty is unbeatable.

They offer full services and warranties in the UK so you shouldn't have a problem.

I bought mine from Dell, the computer and printer cost just under £500, I ordered on-line. You can also go to most electrical outlet on the High Street.

You should go to a 'Computer Fair' and get what you need for half the price. Check if one is near to you. Copy and paste the link below to your browser.
