-what evidence do you have that this was not accurate? or not.

Japan was down but not out. Japan was operating under the "Bushito code" or "The code of the samurai" Soldier and civilian alike, would have fought to the death. The Japanese military was having every single civilian arm themselves to repel the invasion. That would have been much bloodier than the bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki combined. It saved thousands of american soldiers. My grandfather having been one of them. I have included the link with the invasion plans. Hope it helps.
