NoXpert, had you read my profile, you would see that I too am NOT perfect. I am a Christian also. I said "we" simply because I will not lay blame on innocent people. I like many do help, but I admit that I could do a lot more. This is merely a "call to arms" if you will. God Bless You.

Hanahthe Cow, What then is YOUR solution? Ignore the homeless and hungry? Hope that they starve to death? Shouldn't we show compassion, if we ourselves desire compassion?

I don't think people know how to go about taking care of those in need. Some of us are blind to the starvation of people that is really out there. If more people were aware of an easy way to give to the needy, I think it might happen.

how are we supposed to tell when someone else's stomach is growling? I was hungry for some chocolate chip cookies on saturday afternoon - did you email me asking if you could bring me something to take care of my hunger? I'm hungry right now...any chance you won't ignore me and come over and feed me? your answer to me will probably be to go and feed myself...well the hungry should do just that...get money and a job before getting hungry and they won't have to worry about food. As for the starving in Africa or anywhere else...move out of the desert and go to where the food and water is...they were probably starving there 2000 years ago, long before the USA and the rest of the modern world gained capacity to care for the world, so they should do now what they did then...whatever that may have been...by the way...2000 years ago they probably lived where there was food so it is there fault for moving to where there is no food. All this talk about food has made me hungry...i'm going to go and have a steak.

I dont know what its like where you live, but in australia most of the charities take a bit too much in the donations to be worthy enough to donate to.
I would rather just give them the means to feed themselfs, give a man a fish he can eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he can eat for months.

Because that trait is built into our society of dieting and weight problems maybe
Like what i mean is we put ourselves first when thinking about food and waste food and starve ourselves when we have food this really does affect the hungry cause the wasted food could be theirs

because we have not had to miss a meal so hungry is just a word to us that eat all the time. Make me hungry and I will have compassion for a hungry person make me poor and I will have empathy for the poor make me sick and alone and I will be kind to the elderly Make me see you and I will not ignore you.

I feel when I'm hungry.
And also, this may sound really bad, but if we keep feeding and feeding the hungry then they will become dependent and there will just become more and more as the hungry have children that they cannot feed. And if we keep feeding them and feeding them, then the population of the hungry will continue to grow.

If you were to become a cannibal, you could solve both problems at the same time. Satisfy your hunger while eliminating someone that was hungry.

Because survival of ones self is inherent in a human being. Unfortunately, I alone cannot save the world!

There are those of us who do what we can. I personally donate to my local area food band, and donate through my church to missions throughout the world. Where I live there are not many "hungry" people, so I do what I can.
Peace.

Because "the hungry" don't have a direct neurological connection to my brain. My stomach has a distinct and unfair advantage.
