breathe - getting more oxygen to the brain can help a lot
exercise
take a bath
watch a movie/favorite tv show
have a drink
go for a walk
paly with your pet, or just a pet
take a nap, or just go to bed - sleeping over your problems will make them seem less upsetting when you wake up
listen to music and dance
eat your favorite meal
go shopping
spend time with family and friends who can either help you feel better or at least take your mind off your problems
write your frustrations out in a diary or journal
read a good book, preferably in self help for dealing with anger
watch some comedy and laugh your a$$ off
good luck!

Remove yourself from the situation or if it was over the phone go into another area which is quiet. Take several very deep and calming breaths. If possible, go outside, listen to music or read some reflections or poetry that you like. Go to a place in your mind where you can say this too will pass and be only a bad memory so I need to calm down.

Well, sometimes it depends on what it is thats troubliong you. When I get mad I find myself reading or walking, but thats just what I already enjoy doing. What seems to calm you down? What do you like to do? Whatever that something is, use it to the best. It will calm your neves as well as take your mind off of what has you so turned over. So, think about an activity and get to it!!! Be Safe, Be Smart...God Bless :)

Depends on why. Most time is others that do it. Try soothing self talk. Like this:
* This isnt really that big a deal. It only seems big becuause I am in it. It wont be big deal next week.
* This person does not know that they are making me angry.
If you take it seriously, it works.
It if you want to try something else, hit a gym bag for 5-15 minutes. Good luck.

Go do something, like playing a game on the computer or something. You really just detach from the world long enough for you to have calmed down sufficiently.

Walk away. Seriously. Walk around your block once or twice. Or run, but you may not want to sweat. Being angry is a stress response, which triggers the body's fight-or-flight defense mechanism. If you don't do something to release all that energy you might get sick or release that energy on whoever you're arguing with. Walking or running helps you overcome whatever is making you angry, allowing you to think about it once you're calm.

Think hard, very hard, on taking a very deep breath mentally and slow down.....slow down on feeling so frustrated. The anger isn't getting anything done, so you must re-focus, re-group & emerge out of that rut to reach your potential on the problem/task before you.
