OMG! i thought i was the only person in the world who didn't want to know the sex of my baby till it was born!!
and oh, was it fun! i wouldn't let the nurses or doctor tell me what it was and everyone played along! when they prepped me for delivery they sat a blue hat and a pink hat in the incubator and everyone was excited to see the baby, even the nurses who had just met me, cuz nobody does that anymore (you know...wait to know what the sex is).
it was so much fun and i'll do it that way everytime. i don't think the sex is information that the public should have...i think it's personal and meant to be known when the child is born. plus it kept me looking forward with happy/excited expectation of seeing the baby instead of just looking forward (nervously/fearfully) for the actual labor and delivery. it gave me something fun to look forward to and that kept me positive throughout my entire pregnancy!
but hey, that's just me!

My husband and I waited to find out with our first three years ago. I think we were the only ones we knew at the time who didn't find out ahead of time. For our next we are going to be surprised again. It was wonderful. The best surprise of your life. I, too, am saddened that everyone always finds out ahead these days. And the getting ready thing isn't a big deal, we had everything all set for either a boy or a girl, and then when she came we got a whole wardrobe of pink clothes and girlie things, so it just really didn't matter that we hadn't found out beforehand.

With the 1st one I had no choice but to wait. My daughter was shy even in the womb and wouldn't let the tech get a shot so that we could tell.
With my 2nd the tech(same one as with my daughter) suddenly yelled out "We got a boy!" so there really was no option there either.
My new husband wants to know what we are having now. We have one of each already so I don't care whether we know or not.

We found out with this one, our first, just because we don't think we could handle the grandmas and not finding out. lol. We aren't telling anyone HIS name until HE is born though. We have already decided that on our second one we won't find out. It'll be so fun trying to guess the entire time, and trying to keep us from asking when we are at the Dr.=)

Yes! With my first son we just had to know so we found out. With my second and third sons we decided to wait and it was SOOOO WORTH it! If you have not found out the sex I highly advise you to wait. There is not better surprise you can get and it is so exciting to call everyone after the birth to tell them. Good luck!

no, my last pregnancy it was a twin pregnancy and I did not find out that they were twins until I was five months pregnant and that same day the guy doing the ultrasound just blurted out it looks like a boy and a girl. So no I found out way before birth although that might have been cool too.

When I was pregnant with my first child I had an old fashioned dr that didn't believe in ultrasounds so the sex was a complete surprise and my second one they only gave me a 70 percent that it was a girl.

Yes I waited and it was like opening a christmas present.
you did not know unitl it was here. It is the best way to go I think. You wait all that time thinking about what you will have. It is worth waiting to find out
