My Sister became pregnant while she was on the birth control pill. My nephew just had his 27th birthday.
However as suggested by the previous responder, you need to get to a doctor and have a pregnancy test done. Until then I recommend not using the pill.

* If you accidentally took some birth control and then found out you are pregnant, the baby should be fine. However, see your doctor to make sure you are taking the right steps.
* Studies have shown that taking birth control pills while pregnant results in an increased risk of birth defects.
* The writing on the package states "Discontinue use if you become pregnant." If you know that you're pregnant stop taking the pills. (They wouldn't do you much good anyway!)
* I think what this question is asking is if you're pregnant but don't know it yet and you're still taking the pill, if it's dangerous to the fetus. Well, I'm in that exact situation right now, and my doctor and obstetrician both said not to worry about it.
* There is no proof that the birth control pill will harm your baby. If you are sure you are pregnant, stop taking the pill and see your doctor. Don't be overly alarmed if this happens. It's happened to others like yourself and the babies turn out perfectly healthy.
* From what I have read yes it can. Look on any warning labels or the fact sheet sometimes given with the prescription. You should get to your doctor immediately for a test and discuss with him also.

Here is some stuff I found from some websites: "Still, the birth control pill is a potent estrogen. Lessons learned from women who took diethylstilbestrol — a synthetic estrogen that was later linked with cancer — to prevent miscarriage in early pregnancy suggest that such exposure should be minimized. Once you learn that you're pregnant, stop taking the birth control pill." "I'm trying to remember my brain chem. class, but I believe estrogen and testosterone are processed in strange ways by babies. IIRC, estrogen is metabolized into testosterone inside the cells, so I would imagine that extra estrogen would actually cause more manly babies? Balancing the hormones a fetus gets is very important, and different doses can cause huge differences in personality types and phenotypes. A lot of what people consider 'genetic' differences are actually prenatal differences caused by all sorts of stuff. It's best to avoid doing anything funky with your biochemistry while pregnant, IMO. However, there is of course a lot of difference between hormone levels in different women, so taking birth control while pregnant probably wouldn't create a baby outside of the norm, but they might be different personality wise then they might otherwise have been." Hope it helps.

I don't think birth control is good for you baby so if you suspect that your pregnant take a test the day of your missed period or the day before so you can stop.
But my mom had six kids while taking birth control and I'm pretty sure she didn't know right away the second she got pregnant that she was pregnant and all her kids came out healthy. But yeah that just goes to show how reliable birth control is.

It is true - birth control can cause problems if taken while you are pregnant. My best friend was almost 2 months pregnant before she found out & she was on the pill the whole time. She quit as soon as she found out & the baby was ok.

No, most likely will NOT cause a miscarriage but certainly not advisable. I got pregnant while on depo and there are plenty of women that have birth control babies and they are perfectly healthy. Take a test, if you are discontinue the use of the pill.
Very Best Wishes!

OK! This is what I know. My birth control pill, in the instruction paper that comes with it, states that if you think you are pregnant to stop taking the pill and see your doctor. If you think you are expecting, don't take your pill any longer and go see your doctor. Hope this helps.

Well what do you think? The pills are supposed to prevent pregnancy....
Preventing pregnancy is NOT something you want to be doing WHILE you're pregnant!
