Sorry, Ken, you are just plain wrong. Reagan dramatically cut the tax rates when he came into office. Daddy Bush raised them slightly when forced to by a Democrat congress. Clinton raised taxes and balanced the budget. W. Bush cut taxes and created a huge budget deficits.

Historically, the Repubs have been the party of small govt and lower taxes, while the Dems are the party of big spending on social program and high taxes. The last Repub Congress abandoned conservative principles and increased govt spending and they expanded the size of govt. Thus, a huge national debt was created which can be laid at the feet of the Repubs. They promise to go back to their principles if they are returned to power in the next election.

I am an independent so don't accuse me of being biased towards the Repubs. I just state the facts, dude.

That is an incorrect statement. Reagan got a bad rep for that, but the reality was that the Democratic congress kept tacking outlandish levels of spending for social programs on every budget. That's what caused the welfare rolls to swell during the late 80's and into the 90's. Clinton vetoed the welfare reform bill, but later was forced into signing it.

Clinton had the highest tax hikes in history - that's not an opinion, it's a fact.

To Democrats, cutting taxes is like showing a cross to a vampire, and they spend money like drunk sailors (no offense to sailors.) They think they are entitled to our money . . . they need it to run our lives for us through government programs.

I agree with you 100%!!!!!
President Bush's approval rating is at an all time low, everytime a new poll is taken his rating falls even further. Even republican lawmakers try to distance thereselves from him for there own polital security.
When President Clinton left office, there was no defficet, the budget had been balanced. Look at what the republicans did to that.

All the Democrats have been talking about, since taking over Congress, is raising taxes. Have you been listening? Conservatives favor less government. Unfortunately Republican politicians have be come Democrat-lite when it comes to spending. No Republicans are raising taxes or even talking about it. Look it up on the web pages of any main stream liberal newspaper.

Simple: The "new" ideology of this pResident is: It doesn't matter what the American People want, I am the "decider." And, all my buddies will continue to fork over money when I ask them too, and it doesn't matter if we are in a war of illusion...
And, Democrats will be forced to tax, in order to clean up the !@#$% mess of this administration - It will take years, maybe decades to clean up afterward, and get back on track, for the American People!

Because, they hate the idea of ANYONE getting a "free ride" off of their tax dollar. Unfortunately, this group includes the poor (getting poorer by the second) destitute, homeless folks with real problems and no safety net. But you're right.

Bush took the greatest surplus in history and flushed it down the toilet in Iraq...and turned it into the greatest deficit in history...

Sounds like a big spender to me...and with absolutely NOTHING to show for it.
