i am going to try tobreed them . how old do thay have to be to breed

They will eat any type of shrimp, but what they really need is something harder to keep their teeth filed down. Shrimp with the shells will help with this, but snails would be another idea and their hard shells would benefit your puffers even more. While shrimp are easy to breed, it's not as easy to raise the fry - you'll need a separate tank so there's nothing that will eat them and a sponge filter to keep them from being pulled into your filter.

Yes they will eat shrimp of all kinds shells and all.

Also they need to be around 2-3 years old to breed.
