It all depends on the speciality and whether or not the doctor is in private practice or through a medical group, and how small the town is, etc. Doctors typically make anywhere from $75,000 to $250,000 per year under a medical group, and the sky can be the limit in private practice, though the malpractice and other overhead can make that a less attractive proposition.
