Pikake....for those who do not know the amazing and enchanting aroma of this passion flower, it is from Hawaii....where I was born.....It is not heard of or grown here on the "Mainland" or what the Mainlanders call the contiguous 48 states.
What Pikake does for me is this, it reminds me of being bathed in a sink when I was not even a year....blew my parents minds when I told them of all I saw in the rented house on the North Shore, as my first playground was Waimea Bay, North Shore Oahu....I am blonde, so I blend in just about anywhere, but in Hawaii I am a local and there is a different term for me ...I am NOT a haoli....Pikake generates the memories of luaus, being babysat by my grandfather and how playful and young my parents were....THAT ONE FLOWER always takes me back to my first home on Pupukea Road where the Hibiscus and Pikake both grew..... It will always take me back...and the memories are warm and loving, I can still hear the music at the luaus and all of the laughter as we would "talk stories"~ Thank you for asking this most remarkable question, ....taking me way back....I think that I shall now go to a site and order some Pikake fragrance from Hawaii!!!!
ALOHA & MAHALO!!!!!

The smell of the garden hose reminds me of drinking out of it on the grass in the summertime. The smell of suntan lotion/sunscreen reminds me of going to the beach when I was little..& sometimes if I think really hard, I can smell Chuck E. Cheese. Aaahhhh :D

Every time I smell something that smells remotely like a pastry, I think of that time I ate benets in the French Quarter with my mother years ago.

Okay, I know it seems kind of silly but I love the smell of fresh chipped wood. My grandpa owned a sawmill when I was a child and I always loved climbing on the pile of fresh cut wood. Reminds me of the good times, especially since he has been gone for 12 years.

Clove cigarettes... takes me back to when I was a teenager and used to smoke cloves therefore I didn't smell so much like an ashtray, so my parents didn't smell it on me! lol
And raspberries... my late wife often wore raspberry scented lotion and body spritz.

Cheese toast cooking in the oven. My Mama used to cook that for me for breakfast before school. She always kept the oven door opened to make sure the cheese didn't burn. That was great during the winters.

Cut grass takes me back to when I was a kid and my sister and I would have grass fights and my mom would be mad because we would track it in the house.
