I live in Southern California.
And yes, I cheated on her so I guess it's my fault if that matters.
Thanks

She will get 1/2, CA is a no-fault state, and about the cheating? it won't matter unless you were dumb enough to get caught and she took a picture. Then you basically screwed yourself - otherwise, the cheating will not matter because of the "no fault" status. And by 1/2 i mean 1/2 of every single amt. of money and assets

No offense, but I think California law is gonna screw you. Do you have children?

My brother in law and his family live in N. California and have 2 kids. She actually cheated on him and he wanted to leave her. She also makes quite a bit more money than he does.

After investigation, he figured out that if they were to get divorced, it was going to hurt him financially. Very badly. Even though she cheated on him, he was still going to have to pay though the nose.

Obviously law changes state to state, but I know California weighs heavily on the side of the woman. Especially if kids are involved.

the fact you cheated doesn't matter...california is a no fault divorce state - doesn't mean you aren't a schmuck though...

how much she will get depends on A LOT of factors...the financial aspect is a negotiation, just like any business deal/contract. If there are children involved, assets other than income...etc...

you need to consult an attorney...

I am from Canada but for what it is worth I think both parties should get 1/2 when they split. you cheated you should get her a bonus gift for being a pig.. but that's up to your conscience.
so 135 + 40 is 175.000.00 divided by two so 87,500.00 per year is the annual income she should be receiving in all fairness to ensure she can live in the same standards. plus if she is raising kids, you should help pay child support which includes 1/2 costs of everything pertaining to the kids.
HALF

If California has a law that says you equally share assets, that is what she would get. Unless she ask for alimony, assuming there are no children, I would worry about that. If children under 18 are involved, child support is based on your earnings and their lifestyle.

you are over the 10 year mark which significantly increases what she will get in alimony..she will get at least 15-20 % of your salary plus she is entitled to have of your social security when it comes due for you to get it and she gets half your pention. Claifornia is a no fault state so you being a dog wont effect but it gave her grounds

ok are you planning to leave if that's why your asking this question

By the sounds of it you are and for the reason that you cheated on her ya deserve whatever you get

And She will get a lot of it

Grow up and be a man and talk to her instead of taking the cowards way out Take responsiblity for your actions and your life for a change

They would determine spousal support and any child support (if applicable). Also, if the state is a community property state she gets half of EVERYTHING that was acquired during the marriage regardless of partial or total ownership!! Was that piece of a** worth it??

LOL, you'll be lucky if she just getst "halvers" and then if she can prove you cheated, you might as well write "0" in your bank account bottom line..... she'll get it all and then some. You've just sunk your own ship. Life lessons are a b****. Hope this other woman was worth it.
