If you are a position player you better hit .400 - .500, have a quick bat and good fundamentals at the plate and on the field..
If a Pitcher throw 88+ and have a great 2nd pitch to compliment it.

First of all you have to have the talent. If you do not have D-1 skills then I doubt you will get noticed by D1 schools. You must have paid your dues, worked hard and prepared yourself to be the best player you can be. Providing you have the skills, there are several different things you can do to be noticed. 1) Put up solid numbers against good competition, be coachable and be a good student 2)Have a high school coach that promotes you as a player 3) Attend showcases in which scouts are in attendance 4) Attend camps at the schools that you are interested in 5) Play at a competitve level during the summer after your high school season is over. Coaches scout more in the summer because during the spring season, they are generally as busy as you are on the field and it sometimes makes it tough for them to attend your games and recruit. If you are not cnsidered a D-1 prospect out of high school then you have other options. The first is to attend a junior college for 2 years, progress and hopefully work yourself into that level. Alot of people think that the only good level of college baseball is D-1. That is false. Although D-1 is the highest level, several colleges have quality programs at the D-2, D-3 and NAIA level, which would be a second option.

this is really tough. im doing the same thing and i live in a town in nyc that isnt a baseball town. unless you are in a heavily recruited area for baseball players, its really hard. if you are really really good and you make headlines, college scouts will hear about you and theyll come see. there are also showcases where you pay and go to display your talent and lots of college coaches are there. otherwise, the best answer is to ask your coach to help you out and its always good to have some connections. also, i have friends who even though played in high school, they got into the D1 colleges by playing on travel teams in the summer, some of which travel around different cities and you get a lot of exposure. there are a lot of ways to get noticed, but the #1 is you have to be deserving you really have to be good you cant be ok. practice and play hard, and good luck.

I would bet the coach of your high school team is aware of scouts in the area for various MLB teams. But I will tell you what, you really have to be good to get your coach to make that call because his reputation is on the line as well. There is one thing for sure, if you are good enough for a look the scouts will find you from word-of-mouth in your area.

If you're that good that you think scouts should come watch you play, I think they would have by now, or will be coming soon. Scouts hear everything in the baseball world, and your coach will let someone know anyway. Just talk to your coach about it first.

Does one of your teams coaches know a scout? Have him get a scout to watch some of your games. Get your batting avg. up to about .700. If your coach doesn't know anyone, try slipping a note to a college you could consider.

Having a batting average in the 400's is great, but it does not have to be. good size and speed are huge, being able to come through in the clutch is what will get your name known in your area which in turn gets you name out to scouts. Low strike outs would really help, they want a guy who puts the ball in play and can hit the ball to the opposite side of the field with power, as far as fielding range range range, speed with great hands is the key. if you can cover ground and make the routine play, you have a shot

You have to dominate your competition in every aspect of the game. Your dominance must be so overbearing that it cannot be ignored by your coaches, your opposition, the local press, the regional press, and scouts from the next levels up.

Go to Div.1 teams baseball camps. STAND OUT at the camps. I went to one at Southestern in LA and they signed a player or two right then and there. Just hustle and do your best.. Show them what an asset you could be to their team.
AND keep your grades up. THey dont spend scholarships unless you can stay at the school.
