for everything bad that happens, when it is usually Congress that comes up with all the bright ideas, but yet gets no credit when things go good? Congress gets the credit, but the President gets the blame? Can anyone explain this?

Because people nowadays are lazy and stupid and don't feel like using their brain and figure out who actually creates half of of these stupid laws. Congress, no matter what party controls it, usually passes crappy laws and the President doesn't have the time to read the 80 pages of the bill that is also attached with all kinds of crap spending agreements and what not.

The President is the one always on the news. He's more in the public's eye than the vast majority of Congresspeople. The President is also more of a spokesperson for his party and his views. He can interrupt television to broadcast his views to the public, for instance. His statements and opinions are constantly put into the media, whereas even leaders in Congress get minimal media exposure (unless they're running for President, of course).

I would also say that this President has more power than some of the more recent ones (mostly because Congress has a history of letting him do what he wants, so they didn't appear unpatriotic).

For 6 years prior to last falls election it was a solid Republican run congress with a few democrats also in favor of the Republican presidents policies.

The president is a Republican and the gang leader of the other Republicans. In order not to disrupt their own personal agendas,they follow the leader on all matters. {Does the word Sheep come to mind?}

Bush said way back,"Your either for { support my policies} us or against us." Wouldn't that sound like a threat coming from the so called leader of the Republican gang?

If you truly want a change in Republican politics, help get Ron Paul nominated under the Republican ticket.

Thank you!

Because he is the party leader, leader of the country and the free world. We need to get back to "The buck stops here." Harry Truman Congress has to answer to their constituency the president to the whole country. remember, "Beware of the man of whom all men speak well." Jesus.

He's the commander-in-chief and the decider. This congress has only been working since January. Bush has had almost 7 years to screw things up.
I've never heard anyone blame mr. bush for the hurricane, just his (lack of) response to it.

It's tradition. All throughout history, every single president gets blamed for everything. The only difference between the past and now, the liberals have learned to type.

The president is just the figurehead for our government, which is a figurehead for the global shadow government. The people don't even know who is ACTUALLY in charge.

Figurehead: A nominal leader lacking in real authority.
