Very much so, the religious right was part of the reason I left the Republican party. There are also some complete whack-jobs in the Libertarian party but they kinda keep to themselves so they don't bother me.

I think there are extremists in BOTH parties that are embarassing to the parties. I'm a moderate, so don't know who to choose.

Both ends....left and right are terrible for this country. Their ideals are so far off that they get all the attention. The center (where most of us are) feel as if we are the forgotten. Extremists are killing this country.

Yes, Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson. They use religion to spread hate, making us all look like bible toting rednecks. It's the stereotype we're compared to a lot because of them, when it's not the case at all.

I don't associate with them nor do I align myself with them. I can't name any off the top of my head but they are definately out there. Weren't the Unabomber and McVay right-wing wackos? I actually think they were, does anyone know?

yes.. they are the ones calling names and defaming those who disagree with them. But for the most part the Republican party is the backbone of America.
