i know it's the 21st, but i had heard (a while ago) that it was going to be 7/7/7 because of the significance of the number...

what happened?

that was all fan speculation. Everyone guessed that, if it was going to be this year that it was going to be the 7th... but that was all before the publishers gave the actual date.

I like it this way better. It's after the movie. This way, people who are not book readers can enjoy the movie without being hit over the head with all the publicity of how the book ends.

Also, 07/21/07 is still 07/(07/07/07)/07..... 21 can be devided by 3

Nope, nothing happened. The 7/7/07 date had been speculation but it has been 7/21 (3*7, don'cha know?) form the first announcement of a release date.

No. That was only a rumor because of the number seven. There were also rumors of her releasing it on October 31, but the real release date is July 21.

Nothing, somebody in the publishing industry finally figured out HP books were stupid mind-destroying wastes of time and stopped it.
