i want the names to somehow suggest their personality...it's about two men who are insane...one of them is realy down to earth and the other one is dreamy like...so if u have any ideas pls help me out...the names could be english ones or french or whatever

take a cue from your favorite literary characters. for someone insane, try hamlet. for a dreamer: dorian. how about trent and morrissey? lol, music joke.

remember its more important for the names to mean something to YOU than for them to mean something to the reader. the reader is going to dissect and interpret them withing their own frame of reference. if the name puts YOU in the right head space, however, you'll do a better job of fleshing out your characters ;)

old names like Jedediah, or Jeb could suggest earthiness, Christian, Jeffrey or Ian for the dreamer
