Hal works but you can give her a nickname that fits her personality instead of b/c of her name.

Haley is such a cool name that I don't see a reason to choose or use a nick name.
Usually a nick name just happens as the people who have already have nick names of their kids.
Let Haley live her life as Haley and see what naturally happens with her. A nick name usually just happens.
I have a niece Anna, when she was little I called her Anna Bananna. , Emily was MeMe

Just let it happen.

My friend has a daughter Haley and she cried a lot as a baby so they call her Waley or Whales. It's kind of cute.

My daughters name is Hayley. We have a nickname for her but you probably wont like it. We nicknamed her Hale-Bopp after the Hale-Bopp comet that came close to earth a month after she was born in 1997. It started out as a joke but stuck.

Don't nicknames come about due to something that THAT person does or likes? You don't just makeup a nickname!
