ok i took up acoustic before and wanted to learn how to play electric guitar because i think its more powerful
but i dont know ANYTHING i dont know what 'tabs' i know what chords are
i need a great website or youtube video that i can understand easily thanks

You need to know how to play the guitar. The electric guitar is just a variation...it is not an instrument in its own right.
You need to be able to play the acoustic guitars...steel string and classical before you can even begin to think about the electrics.

I notice you make no mention of what music you want to play??

One thing (among many others) is that the pressure you use on the fretboard is a LOT less than on an acoustic. That's something people have trouble with, when making the transistion. Just remember: "light" fingers.

Tabs are another method of musical notation for guitars. Each line represents a string of the guitar (and they are usually labeled from E, to e (high e-string). The number are the fret numbers where you press when you pick or strum. There are other notations, like sliding, hammer-on's and pullof's, etc. that you can learn when you get better at playing.
