Here we go again - there are so many wonderful answers here that it would almost be impossible for me to just pick one. ... I guess the best I can do is to say: Thank You ALL.

LOL, Ω, I'm sorry I have to be the one to tell you this, but the quality of "COOLNESS" is basically impossible for humans to achieve. Okay, there once was that mythical Fonzie guy, and perhaps a few other fictional exceptions, but humans, with their uvulas, intestinal flora and tax codes, are fundamentally doomed to remain uncool. Some try hard to fight this predilection with publicity or shoe-shopping, but eventually, they too are forced to face their nature. So, human lives spent in quests for COOLNESS are wasted in vain pursuits.

Now, dolphins are another story....

I don't think so. "Coolness" seems to me to be an adolescent affectation - a mask to hide behind - a cowed position declaring that public opinion matters more than personal identity. I reckon life's a quest for wisdom - and that necessarily entails a willingness to seem foolish. All dissent or heresy may not be new wisdom; but new wisdom is always initially unfashionable. Anyway, it's the quest that matters, because we cannot really know the goal in advance - and the quest for wisdom never ends. What fun.

It depends on your priorities. You make your life a quest for coolness if you decide that life is a quest of coolness. If you decide that life is a quest for meaning, life for you is a quest for meaning. You alone determine what your life truly is.

It will be when global warming has raised the mean temperature of the earth by 2C. Just kidding.

As in the song, "Hey, Jude", a "fool plays it cool". We must not let our egos rule us, but our kindness and love towards people.

seems like it for most people, they are all striving to follow the crowd of the "cools" which is pretty much pathetic because youre not being true to yourself at all

COOLNESS means different things to different people
so the answer is inconclusively relative.
