Our new neighbors are all men. They moved into the house next to ours, and there's five of them who live there.. and a few more that come to visit now and then. Now, I mind my own business, but it seems that everytime I venture outside I run into one of them. The problem is that some of them come up with stupid/rude little remarks and they make me uncomfortable. For instance, the other day I needed something from my car and one of them looks at me and says.. 'hey baby, can I ride with you?" and the other one said "Oh, she's not taking you, she wants to ride with me" and made a face at me. Just yesterday, I was going out and it was raining out, this one guy was talking to his friend and he looks at me and says "Look at her, she's scared of the lightning, let me go over there and hold her." I've asked them to stop a few times, but they won't..
I really don't feel safe going over to a house full of men and asking them to stop.. Anyone have any suggestions as what I can do?

All of their remarks seem like the basic unintelligent cat calls. My stragety is to predict that something igorant and sexually biased will be said, and formulate a comeback that is so cocky, so intelligent and so hurtful, that they will have no choice but to look at you in utter disbelief. soemthing such as..."Hey buddy, If I needed a mindless Dick in my life I would have called your mother a long time ago, so go back to your unsatisfying, worthless pathetic lack luster thing you call a life and find some other female to irritate to the point of humiliating you in front of your equally half brained pompus friends." If that doesnt work, simply act as if you are mentally challenged in some way, practice looking like a down syndrome kid in front of the mirror, or basically contorting your face and actions to the point of sheer creepiness, and when one of them confronts you, proceed to thoroughly freak them out with a good impression of you possessed by an irate mentally challenged individual. good luck.

Ignore them. Wear headphones outside the house.
There are lots of choices if you want to fight back - the key is knowing your enemy. Get your cordless phone and see if you can pick up their conversations (unplug your unit to try this), or go thru their garbage, whatever - you need inside information. Then embaress them, or make them feel guilty. You can use microphones and PA systems to broadcast biting remarks from the comfort of your bedroom. Be creative. Have fun with it. The cops won't do anything unless you are in danger.
Alternatively, have your friend tell them you are mentally challenged or (better yet) deranged. The best way to scare people off is to make them think you are crazy, unpredictable, and commited to revenge at any cost. Scream in the streets like your loosing your mind if you don't mind the neighborhood thinking you're bonkers.
If you want to avoid any contact, try writing them. You will still want to try some of the tactics above though. Also, you could try some of these things in front of their visiting girlfriends/ mothers/ ect. Good luck.

Unfortunately, I don't think there is a thing you can do. Sexist language is only illegal in the work place. They are obviously sexist pigs and need to do some growing up. However, you are right not to feel comfortable enough to go over there. Don't trust them. If you ever feel that one has threatened you though you can file a protection order against him. Do you have any male friends who can help you? My best advise is to avoid them where ever possible. These guys obviously have no respect for women.

How old are you? If you're under 18, call the cops.
If you are over 18, I think I would type up an official looking letter from you and your family that says that they need to knock it off. If they don't after that, use video cameras or recorders to catch them. Then take their sorry butts to court and sue!

Tell them you are a lesbian, and your gf has a 5th degree black belt....
Start muttering gibberish at them like you are insane....
Call a male friend who is buffed and let him be seen with you in obvious, and threatening (to them) way...
Yell back at them something even more rude, shocking, and offensive...you know you can think of something....
Basically, when I was getting "harassed" I made derogatory comments about their male genitalia in a very offensive manner and they were really....shocked. Hahahahaha. They feel that they have power over you when they think they are intimidating you.

maybe introducing yourself to them while they are outside . . once they get to know you the teasing should loose it's appeal ..
