What do you bench? How tall are you? At 230 you should bench 250 or so.

To lose some weight, start running. I know you're 230 but try to get in two miles a day or more. It will cut the weight by 15 pounds and help you gain stamina. Also use the bags and jump sideways over each one. Do a bunch of sideway movement exercises (talk to your coach) As for getting past the o-line, stay low and learn how to swim and rip. Those two moves will get you past the line. Spinning also helps once in a while. Talk to your coach about these moves.

As for diet, it doesn't really matter what you eat as long as you exercise. But try for some complex carbs (anything wheat) and stay hydrated.

Most importantly, stay dedicated, doesn't matter what you play or how much playing time you get. Make use of your opportunities. Make sure you get at least a 3.0 since you have to graduate high school before you make it to college. Focus on school and just play football.

Talk to your coach and see what he thinks you could do to improve.

A 230-pound sophomore who's still growing will probably still play nose tackle, though if you are a good rusher the coaches should design stunts to get you outside.

To unstabilize an offensive blocker, you need to learn techniques like the swim move and how to keep the offensive player's hands away from your body. These techniques are usually taught by a line coach. If your line coach isn't keen to these, try a short trip to a local college.

Keep up the good discipline at the training table and the weight room.
