because I dripped the motor oil on her new rug as I was cleaning the engine rod. She told me to never do this in house. Now she says she is very sad. Should I buy her new apron to make her satisfy.

I'm sure that engine rod is the only stiff rod in the house.. She has every right to be sad... Buy her a BOB...

Of course she was sad, you shouldn't have been walking around the house with your rod in your hand! You should do that in the privacy of your garage.
